Temperature Drop Expected Across Ukraine

According to Novyny.live: Ukraine’s scorching heat is about to ease. Starting July 3–5, air temperatures will decline, according to Nataliia Ptukha, head of media communications at the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center. This shift is driven by an atmospheric front arriving on July 2.

Record-breaking highs exceeding +37 °C will gradually subside. On July 1, temperatures may still reach +38 °C in some areas, but conditions will change soon after.

“We still need to endure this heatwave for the first two days of July. Intense heat persists tomorrow, July 1, especially in the southwestern regions. Other areas will see +27…+34 °C. That’s still hot, but not extreme, since extreme heat starts at +35 °C and above,” said Nataliia Ptukha.

Upcoming Weather Shifts

By July 4, daytime temperatures will range from +19 to +25 °C, dropping to +11…+18 °C at night.

“After such heat, thunderstorms may be more intense. A more noticeable temperature drop for western and northern regions will begin on July 4,” she added.

On July 5, daytime highs are forecast between +21 and +28 °C, signaling a continued retreat of the heatwave across Ukraine.

This cooling trend could positively affect the country’s energy situation, as lower demand for air conditioning reduces strain on the power grid. Additionally, it may improve conditions for farmers who suffered from extreme weather in June. However, residents and emergency services should stay alert, as thunderstorms are likely to accompany the temperature drop.
