Electricity consumption in Ukraine decreased – «Ukrenergo».
As of the morning of August 23, electricity consumption in Ukraine decreased by 6.9% compared to the previous day. This happened due to a drop in temperature outside. This was reported by the press service of NGC "Ukrenergo".
"Thanks to the temperature drop in the western, northern, and central regions, the consumption level has decreased. Today, August 23, as of 9:30, it is 6.9% lower than the previous day," the message says.
Yesterday, August 22, the peak consumption, as noted, was recorded in the evening. It was 3.8% lower than on Wednesday, August 21. "Consumption restriction measures are not expected today," the message says.
Emergency assistance
Yesterday, August 22, at the request of NGC "Ukrenergo", Ukraine attracted emergency assistance from the energy system of Slovakia.
Import and Export
Import - during the day from Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, Moldova. A total volume of 19,010 MWh, with a maximum power at certain hours up to 1581 MW. Export is not taking place and is not expected.
Power Outages
According to Ukrenergo, due to military actions and other reasons, 531 settlements are completely or partially de-energized. Due to military actions, there are outages in Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions. Due to technical reasons, consumers were disconnected in the Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
As reported, the largest nuclear power plant in Europe, the Zaporizhzhia NPP, which has been under occupation since March 4, 2022, was again on the verge of blackout due to damage to the power line as a result of Russian shelling.
