Trump Warns of Uranium Transfer to Russia and China as U.S. Strikes Iran.
U.S. Military Action in Iran
According to UATV: On May 26, American forces launched strikes against targets in Iran, citing them as a threat to both U.S. personnel and commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. These operations coincide with renewed diplomatic efforts to end the conflict involving Iran, the United States, and Israel.
The U.S. military also shot down several Iranian drones during the operation. President Donald Trump made clear that Washington would not allow Iran’s enriched uranium to be transferred to Russia or China, stating:
“Washington will not allow the transfer of Iranian enriched uranium to Russia or China.”
In light of this, two options are being considered:
- transfer of U.S. stockpiles;
- destruction of Iran’s stockpiles under international supervision.
Shifts in the Regional Landscape
Separately, the Israeli military has requested new technology from the United States to counter Hezbollah drones. Major General Nadav Lotan, head of Israel’s ground forces, will travel to the U.S. to negotiate the purchase of drone defense systems. Meanwhile, Iran has allowed two tankers to leave the Strait of Hormuz after a three-month standstill, potentially signaling changes in the regional dynamics.
It is important to note that the U.S. strikes in Iran come amid rising tensions in the region, driven by threats to international shipping and the activity of militant groups. Talks between the U.S., Iran, and Israel could be pivotal in stabilizing the situation, but there is a risk of further escalation if no acceptable solutions are reached. The international community will closely monitor developments, as any subsequent actions could have far-reaching implications for global security and the economy.
