Upon the Protection of Ukraine at the Beginning of the War. Let Us Remember Vasyl Vandyura.
Every day at 9 AM, Ukrainians honor the memory of all those whose lives were taken by the Russo-Ukrainian war. Today, we remember Vasyl Vandyura.
On a shield, the defender of Ukraine, Sergeant Vasyl Vandyura (Sarmat), returned to his native village after being killed on February 28, 2025, while performing a combat mission in Luhansk region. This was reported by the Berezniv Municipal Council.
Vasyl Vandyura was born on July 25, 1972, in the village of Prisluch. He studied at the Prisluch Secondary School and then at the Sosniv Professional Technical School, where he became a certified electric welder.
In peaceful life, he worked in a local collective farm and seasonal jobs. Vasyl was a hardworking, kind person always ready to help others, as reported by the city council.
For his family, Vasyl was a wonderful son, brother, loving husband, caring father, and grandfather.
In May 2022, Vasyl joined the army, serving as a rifleman. His comrades knew him by the call sign Sarmat.
On February 28, 2025, Vasyl Vandyura was killed while performing a combat mission in Luhansk region.
