On October 10, 2024, in a frontline battle, 27-year-old defender of Ukraine from Poltava region, Vladyslav Maksymenko, who went to the front immediately after graduating from university, died. This was reported by the Lokhvytsia city council.
The life path of Ukraine's defender
Vladyslav Maksymenko was born on June 27, 1997, in the city of Hadiach. After finishing school, he studied at the Hadiach Higher Professional Agricultural College, where he obtained the profession of a crane operator. From 2016 to 2021, he studied at the Poltava National Pedagogical University named after V.G. Korolenko at the Faculty of Technology and Design.
Having received an education, the young man signed a contract and began defending Ukraine. During his service as a junior sergeant, he established himself positively, earning respect among fellow soldiers.
The soldier received awards: the "Cross of Honor" of the 95th Separate Air Assault Brigade, the medal "War Veteran. Combatant".
On October 10, 2024, the irreparable occurred - the brave warrior died in a frontline battle.
On October 20, the Lokhvytsia community escorted the faithful son of Ukraine, who died for our freedom and independence - Maksymenko Vladyslav Ivanovich, on his final journey. The village of Poharshchyna, closely linked to the life of the fighter, formed a live corridor to meet the procession with the body of the fallen. Fresh flowers lined the road before the funeral cortege in a sign of gratitude and respect for the defender's feat.
The representative of the second department of the Myrhorod District Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support, Major Hennadiy Tokar, presented the Hero's mother - Valentyna Hryhorivna - with the State Flag of Ukraine, which covered the household of the deceased.

The defender is survived by his mother Valentyna Hryhorivna, father Ivan Vasylovych, wife Oleksandra, and sister Anna.
"Glavkom" joins the moment of silence. We honor the memory of all Ukrainians who died fighting for their homeland. We remember those who were killed by the hands of Russian invaders, light candles of memory, and bow our heads in mourning during the national moment of silence, paying tribute to the bright memory of the citizens of Ukraine who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of the state: all military personnel, civilians, and children, all who died fighting against Russian occupants and as a result of enemy attacks on Ukrainian towns and villages.
