Subaru unveiled two STI concepts: the electric Performance-E and the gasoline Performance-B.
According to Korrespondent.net: Subaru presented two new concepts under the STI brand at the Japan Mobility Show 2025, showcasing different perspectives on performance in the future, reports Carscoops. One of them is the fully electric model Performance-E, while the other is the gasoline hatchback Performance-B.
The company combined the themes of 'Performance' and 'Adventure' under the motto 'Driving the Subaru Difference', emphasizing the harmony between dynamism and versatility.
Performance-E Concept
The electric Performance-E is characterized as 'a harbinger of a new generation of Subaru'. The car's design features aggressive shapes, sharp LED headlights, large air intakes, and an aerodynamic silhouette reminiscent of a sports station wagon. The golden trim of the wheel covers contrasts with black rims and red brake calipers. The model has a low stance, a roof that slopes towards the spoiler, and a diffuser styled like a Formula 1 car.
Subaru reports that the electric concept has a 'comfortable, driver-focused interior' and combines 'innovative technologies with intuitive and engaging handling'. The system includes a battery placement in the floor, electric motors on both axles, and a sports suspension.
Performance-B Concept
The second concept, Performance-B STI, remains true to traditional gasoline technology. It takes the form of a 'hot' version of the modern Impreza but with a focus on a more aggressive appearance. The flared fenders with ventilation openings, a hood scoop, new bumpers, a red stripe on the grille, and a large rear wing give the car a track-ready look.
At the heart of the car is a classic boxer engine combined with the Symmetrical AWD system, but Subaru has not yet disclosed its technical specifications.
The company notes that both concepts could become production models in the future.
It is worth noting that earlier at the same motor show, Lexus presented concepts for three potential LS models.

These new concepts demonstrate Subaru's efforts to focus on innovation and cutting-edge technologies. On one hand, the electric Performance-E symbolizes the future of energy, while on the other hand, the Performance-B underscores the brand's traditional values, keeping the door open for gasoline car enthusiasts. This may mean new opportunities for the company in the rapidly changing automotive world.
