Kharkiv Resident Ordered to Pay 50,000 Hryvnias for Illegal Gas Use.
Court Ruling on Gas Consumption
According to Novyny.live: The Industrial District Court in Kharkiv has ruled against a gas consumer, ordering him to pay 50,000 hryvnias for illegally using gas over an eight-month period. This case highlights the ongoing efforts in Ukraine to combat utility fraud and ensure payment for resources. The ruling followed the discovery of a concealed gas pipeline on the property of a private house in April 2024.
The consumer had been receiving additional gas from August 1, 2023, to April 3, 2024. During this time, he used a total of 6,400 cubic meters of gas, resulting in a calculated cost of 47,347 hryvnias. The court also mandated a court fee of 2,400 hryvnias on top of this amount.
Serious Consequences for Consumers
This case illustrates the severe repercussions for consumers who attempt to evade responsibility for using communal services. In Ukraine, oversight of gas consumption is becoming increasingly stringent, underscoring the critical importance of adhering to the law in this area.
The court's decision may serve as an example for other consumers, reminding them of the necessity for legal connection to utility networks and the proper payment for consumed resources.
