Oleksiy Sukhanov revealed the reason for Rotaru's silence about the war.

According to ТСН: Famous TV presenter Oleksiy Sukhanov explained why singer Sofia Rotaru does not comment on the war in Ukraine, which was initiated by Russia.

Circumstances of silence

Sukhanov noted that the singer would like to give an interview to express her position. However, at this moment, there are certain circumstances that prevent her from doing so. Oleksiy Sukhanov emphasized:

“I would like to record an interview with Sofia Mykhailivna. She refuses. She really wants to talk, but believe me, right now there is one circumstance that prevents her. She is not silent for no reason, as I was explained.”

Reasons for silence

The presenter stressed that Sofia Rotaru's silence is not accidental. However, he cannot disclose the details since he does not have the right to do so:

“I am not authorized (to disclose - ed.), but believe me, she is not silent for no reason, and she cares.”

With the beginning of the full-scale war, the artist decided to maintain silence, but still reacts to events in Ukraine by posting messages on Instagram. For example, after the horrific shelling of Ternopil, she expressively reacted to the crimes of the occupiers.

Thus, although Sofia Rotaru refrains from active comments, her silence has its reasons, known only to her close circle. The situation remains tense, and the singer, like other artists, cares about the fate of the country and its people, even if she cannot always express her thoughts publicly.
