Suzuki unveils new crossover Victoris: what the affordable alternative to Grand Vitara offers

According to Korrespondent.net: Suzuki officially presented the new crossover Victoris, which resembles the 2022 Grand Vitara in form and technical specifications.

Design and Configurations

Visually, the new model has a more conservative style, partially adopting design elements from the e Vitara electric car. The dimensions of the Victoris are 4360 mm in length, 1795 mm in width, and 1655 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2600 mm. In the base configurations, the crossover is equipped with halogen headlights and 17-inch wheels, while more expensive versions feature LED headlights and a two-tone body.

The interior of the car varies depending on the configuration. The base version includes an analog instrument panel with a small screen, a 7-inch multimedia system, fabric seats, and gray upholstery. The 'Initial' Victoris also has six airbags, climate control, and a start button for the engine. More luxurious versions offer two-tone design with combined upholstery, ventilation for the front seats, a panoramic roof, a digital instrument panel with a diagonal of 10.25 inches, a head-up display, a 10-inch multimedia system, 64-color ambient lighting, and a surround-view system.

Powertrains

The crossover offers several engine options. The base 1.5-liter gasoline engine with 103 hp can work with a five-speed 'manual' or a six-speed 'automatic'. This model is equipped with a 12-volt starter-generator, making it a 'mild' hybrid. For versions with an automatic transmission, All-Grip all-wheel drive is available. An additional gas modification on methane with a 1.5-liter atmospheric engine of 88 hp is available, which is equipped only with 'manual' transmission and front-wheel drive; a 55-liter tank is placed under the floor, saving trunk space. An alternative is the full hybrid system from Toyota with a three-cylinder 1.5-liter engine with 92 hp, an electric motor with 80 hp, and an electromechanical variator. The total power of this system is 116 hp, with only front-wheel drive, and the battery is located under the rear seat.

Sales Prospects

Sales of the Suzuki Victoris in India will begin by the end of autumn, after which the model is planned to be exported to over a hundred countries. Although the price has not yet been announced, it is expected that the new model will be slightly cheaper than the Grand Vitara, which currently costs between $13,000 and $23,000.

It was previously reported that the next Suzuki crossover will be based on the Toyota RAV4.
