Switzerland offered immunity to Putin for a meeting with Zelensky.
Switzerland is ready to host Zelensky and Putin for negotiations
Switzerland is ready to host a meeting between the presidents of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, and Russia, Vladimir Putin. This will happen on the condition that Putin receives immunity from prosecution by the International Criminal Court. This was stated by Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis.
Cassis noted that Geneva has significant experience in conducting diplomatic negotiations.
'The Federal Council has established procedures for granting immunity to individuals facing international arrest warrants when they arrive to participate in a peace conference, rather than for personal motives or other reasons,' Cassis explained.
It should be noted that after the meeting in Washington with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and European leaders, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he took on the organization of a meeting between the leaders of Ukraine and Russia.
