American sex instructor deported from Bali: reasons for the harsh reaction of the authorities.
American sex teacher deported from Bali
According to The Sun: American sex teacher, 44-year-old Jenelle Rynett Gordon, was deported from the popular resort island of Bali for conducting illegal workshops. She was detained by immigration authorities after her activities became known.
ViralPressDetails of the incident
Gordon planned to conduct a five-day 'intimacy retreat' for couples. She was detained in Jakarta on September 16 when she was arriving in the capital, and only two days later was deported from Indonesia.
The detention occurred based on complaints about obscene workshops being held at a villa in Seminyak, south Bali. Authorities noted that she entered the country on September 4, but allegedly abused her visa by organizing an 'intimacy mastery retreat' where she offered lessons in the Kama Sutra and relationship coaching.
Sexual toys were also found at the villa. Indonesia has strict laws prohibiting adult content.
“Every foreigner in Indonesia must comply with immigration norms and respect existing legal standards,” said Vinako, head of Class I of the Ngurah Rai special immigration office.
“Actions against those who abuse their stay will be severely punished,” he added.
Gordon promoted her retreat on social media, charging clients $6,997 (£5,180) for the course. She is banned from entering Indonesia, and the deportation took place on an EVA Air flight to Los Angeles.
About Jenelle Gordon's past
Jenelle previously shared her traumatic story of becoming a victim of human trafficking at the age of 19. She managed to escape from her captors by faking her own death, and then traveled to Thailand, where she learned 'tantric therapy' to heal from prolonged exploitation.
In addition to coaching, Gordon also founded a non-profit organization called Beyond Freedom, which supports victims of human trafficking.
“I became obsessed with this methodology of holistic healing, as it is what helped me,” she said.
“Now, coming full circle, I really wanted to provide the same help I received to other victims,” she added.

Gordon demonstrated that immigration issues in Indonesia are serious, and violating the rules can lead to immediate consequences. The situation also draws attention to the painful stories of human trafficking victims who struggle for their recovery and support. It is crucial that such situations are not isolated but serve to raise awareness of the issue and prompt change. Read also
