Girkin admitted: the war in Ukraine has deprived Russia of the strength to defend its allies

According to ТСН: Igor Girkin, known as Strelkov, commented on the recent events in Venezuela, noting that this has become another blow to Russia's international standing.

Recognition of Inability

In his message, he directly acknowledged that Moscow is unable to support its allies outside the conflict in Ukraine.

“The United States staged a coup in Venezuela, struck it, and showed that international law means nothing to a country that considers itself a hegemon,” wrote Girkin.

US Control Over Oil

Girkin also stated that Washington demonstrated how large states should act by eliminating threats before they become serious. He believes that the US has secured control over Venezuelan oil.

“In fact, they now control Venezuelan oil and have gained additional trump cards in the game against China. The next step is Iranian oil,” Girkin noted.

Impact on Russia's Reputation

Girkin believes that this situation dealt a painful blow to Russia's reputation. In particular, he wrote:

“We've been dealt another blow to our image. Another country that counted on Russia's help did not receive it.”

According to Girkin, the main reason must be sought in the war against Ukraine.

“Stuck up to our necks in the bloody swamp of Ukraine, we are practically unable to do anything else, especially not able to help Venezuela on the other hemisphere,” Girkin stated.

Signal for China

He also believes that the events in Venezuela could serve as an important signal for China.

“China, I think, will draw serious conclusions, realizing that negotiating with Trump is pointless: he will either deceive, or strike at the first opportunity,” concluded Girkin.

It is recalled that the operation to capture Nicolas Maduro was planned for months, and American special forces trained on an exact replica of his residence.

The events in Venezuela show the growing influence of the United States on the international stage, especially in relations with countries that depend on Russia's support. This underscores how important Russia's political and economic standing is in the context of global competition.
