Prolonged impacts caused the yacht to start tilting and eventually go down. On board was the Nautic Squad team, which was later rescued by other vessels.

Four individuals from another yacht, which also fell victim to the orca attack, required assistance. All nine people aboard the two vessels were rescued before the arrival of rescuers and were not seriously injured.
This incident occurred just a few days after another pod of orcas attacked two boats off the coast of Spain, where an increase in the orca population has been observed in recent weeks.

Why Do Orcas Attack Boats?
Studies indicate that specialists do not fully understand why orcas frequently attack boats. Several theories are noted: some experts believe it may simply be play, while others think aggression arises from injury.
"The truth is that we were very scared; we really were 'frightened' when we realized that the orcas were hitting the boat," said one of the crew members of the attacked boats.
Orcas can reach lengths of 9.8 meters and weigh up to six tons. They always hunt in family groups, feeding on fish, dolphins, and other marine animals.
Incidents of attacks typically occur between May and August, but there are concerns that one orca is teaching others this behavior.
