Logitech Error Breaks MX Master Mice for Mac: How to Fix It.
According to Korrespondent.net: Users of some Logitech mice and keyboards on Apple computers have encountered an unexpected problem: their devices have suddenly lost some functionality. The cause of the failure lies in the fact that the proprietary application Logitech Options+ has stopped working, causing all individual settings of the peripherals to reset.
The problem arose due to a mistake by Logitech, as the company did not timely update its Apple Developer certificate. As a result, macOS blocked the launch of Options+, and all additional features related to this software also ceased to operate.
Malfunction in New Models
This issue has not affected all users, but only those with new models that require Options+. Among them are the popular mice MX Master 3S and MX Master 4. Older devices that operate on different software do not face this issue.
Solution to the Problem
The situation is complicated by the fact that due to the error, the application cannot update automatically. Logitech offers affected users to manually download a separate installer with the fix from its official website. However, most average users may not know the reason for the failure and may not understand how to solve it.
Impact on Premium Peripherals
The problem is particularly painful for owners of premium peripherals, as Options+ is responsible for numerous additional features: button remapping, gestures, individual profiles, and integration with certain programs. Without this application, MX series mice essentially lose a significant part of their core capabilities.
It is worth noting that earlier it was reported that Google discovered a bug that allowed hiding any article from search results.
Microsoft has released an update for Windows 11 that breaks computers
This situation with Logitech reminds us of the importance of timely software and certificate updates. Owners of premium peripherals may face real difficulties in operating their devices, and the company must find a way to avoid similar problems in the future. This can undoubtedly affect users' trust in the brand.
