According to The Sun: Two nurses died under the wheels of a car while trying to help an injured kangaroo.

Sarala Khadka and Ariza Suwal, close friends, were celebrating Ariza's 30th birthday when they became victims of a horrific accident on a highway in Melbourne, Australia.

The friends, who had known each other for 14 years, stopped to help the kangaroo when a car that did not see them in the dark hit them.

Both women worked at Alfred Hospital and called each other 'partners in crime'.

They were heading to celebrate Ariza's birthday when the tragedy occurred on the Hume Highway.

Sarala sent a touching message to her best friend on social media just hours before the crash.

“Throughout all these years, you have been my support, my partner in crime. Through laughter and tears, we have been through it all and are still here, stronger than ever.”

Both women came to Australia from Nepal and quickly became close friends.

Now their families are trying to arrange the return of the bodies to Nepal.
