Serbia is not the best venue for Putin and Trump's negotiations

Serbian leader Aleksandar Vučić stated that Belgrade could act as a mediator in negotiations between Putin and Trump. However, Ukraine's ambassador to Serbia, Volodymyr Tolkach, noted in his interview that he personally does not see the need for such negotiations in Belgrade.

According to Tolkach, Serbia is not the best place for these negotiations, as it does not support sanctions against Russia.

'Such matters are not usually agreed upon with anyone beforehand. Personally, I do not see the need to hold such negotiations here, in Belgrade, since, considering Serbia's non-alignment with the sanctions, this venue is not the best among possible options. I leave the right to decide who is invited here', - explained Tolkach.

Perception of Ukraine in Serbia

During the Time of war, the position of Serbs has shifted in favor of Ukraine. Despite the fact that the residents of Serbia do not fully understand the reasons for Russian aggression, the country perceives Ukraine as a friendly Slavic nation. This was stated by Ukraine's ambassador to Serbia, Volodymyr Tolkach, in his interview.

Serbia also refused to purchase Russian weapons and will provide Ukraine with equipment worth over €8 million, including generators and transformers. This was reported by Serbia's president Aleksandar Vučić.
