Trump Held Talks with Putin on Ending the War in Ukraine
U.S. President Donald Trump spoke about his phone negotiations with Russian leader Vladimir Putin regarding a possible cessation of the war in Ukraine. The interview with Trump was conducted on board the plane and published in the New York Post.
During the conversation with journalists, Trump evaded a direct answer to the question about the number of talks held with Putin. The U.S. President said: 'I better not say.'
According to Trump, Putin expressed concern about the human losses in the war and seeks to end the deaths. He added: 'I have always had a good relationship with Putin.'
Trump also stated that he has a specific plan to resolve the conflict. He intends to offer Ukraine a deal worth 500 million dollars, which will include access to rare earth minerals and gas in exchange for security guarantees in the peace agreement.
Trump expressed his belief that the three-year-long war 'would never have happened' if he had become president in 2022. According to reports, Vice President Jay Di Vance plans to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the upcoming Munich Security Conference.
Earlier, Zelensky revealed the main topic of the upcoming meeting with Trump.
