Iran's President Dismisses Trump's Surrender Demand as a 'Dream' and Apologizes for Strikes.
Trump's Demand and Iran's Response
According to Novyny.live: In a sharp rebuke, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has dismissed a demand from U.S. President Donald Trump for Iran's complete surrender, calling it an unrealistic 'dream.' This exchange underscores the deep-seated tensions that have defined U.S.-Iran relations for decades. Pezeshkian also issued an apology for strikes that impacted neighboring countries and announced a decision to halt such attacks.
Pezeshkian emphasized the impractical nature of Trump's demand, stating:
“This is a dream they should take with them to the grave.” - Masoud Pezeshkian
During his address, the Iranian president also offered an apology to neighboring nations for Iran's aggressive actions, declaring:
“I must apologize to the neighboring countries attacked by Iran, on my own behalf.” - Masoud Pezeshkian
Decision to Suspend Attacks
Pezeshkian reported that the decision to suspend attacks was approved by a provisional governing council. He noted that this directive has been communicated to Iran's Armed Forces, and from now on, the military should not attack neighboring countries or launch missiles unless those nations attack Iran first.
He concluded by stressing that the situation should be resolved through diplomacy rather than conflict with neighboring states, stating: “I believe we must resolve this through diplomacy, not through conflicts with neighboring countries.”
Consequently, the situation between the U.S. and Iran remains tense, marked by mutual accusations alongside calls for peace and cooperation. Trump's demands and Pezeshkian's reaction highlight profound political divisions that could have serious implications for regional stability. While diplomatic efforts may prove crucial for resolving conflicts and reducing tensions, both sides currently maintain hardened positions.
