Trump played golf with the President of Finland and gave him an unexpected gift.
US President Donald Trump and Finnish President Alexander Stubb met to discuss the relations between the countries and current issues of foreign policy, including Ukraine. Before the interview, they decided to start the day with a game of golf. Trump called Stubb a talented player and together they won the golf tournament.
Also at the meeting, an agreement was made to strengthen the partnership between the countries and to purchase icebreakers for the US. However, the US Department of Defense continues to allocate funds to maintain military golf courses, not adhering to Trump's efforts to cut federal spending. The Pentagon also owns several golf courses, which received significant funding. Meanwhile, activists committed acts of vandalism at Trump’s golf resort in Scotland, posting photos of their actions on social media.
