Ukrainians to Receive a Third Gas Bill Starting in 2026: What It Covers
According to Novyny.live: Starting in 2026, Ukrainian households will receive a third utility bill specifically for natural gas. According to Gas Distribution Networks of Ukraine LLC, this new invoice will cover the technical maintenance of gas pipelines in residential buildings, as well as the costs for inspecting, repairing, and modernizing the gas distribution system. This change is part of broader utility reforms aimed at maintaining critical infrastructure.
Key Details on Building Network Maintenance Fees
Homeowners will be responsible for paying these maintenance charges. The bill for technical servicing will be issued only once every three to five years. In 2026, the minimum inspection cost for shared gas pipelines is projected to be around 100 UAH per apartment. However, in buildings with fewer apartments, the inspection fee could exceed 1,000 UAH per unit.
Consequently, Ukrainians should prepare for this new recurring expense related to gas network maintenance, which will become a regular part of their utility payments.
The introduction of this new maintenance bill could significantly impact household budgets across Ukraine.
This measure is driven by the necessity to support and upgrade the infrastructure that delivers gas. Property owners must account for these costs in their financial planning, as it may add a new burden to their monthly expenses.
