Reaction to the Strikes and Future Actions
A significant buildup of naval forces has been ordered in waters near Venezuela as part of the fight against Latin American cartels.
Trump noted that the ship engaged in smuggling carried “drug dealers” from the Tren de Aragua gang, which Washington considers a terrorist organization supported by Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.
Impressive footage showed the strike hitting and destroying the drug boat in the Southern Caribbean Sea.
The attack occurred after several weeks of escalation between Washington and Caracas.
When asked whether the action was legal and why the traffickers were not arrested, Trump noted that this attack sent a clear message to the criminals.
“There was a massive amount of drugs coming into our country, killing many people, and everyone is fully aware of it,” he said.
“Clearly, they won't be doing that anymore. And I think many others won't be doing it either.”
“When they see this record, they will say: let's not do this.”
Trump also noted that “there are still many actions” ahead due to the continuous flow of drugs from Venezuela.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth reported that Maduro leads the country like a drug cartel.
He added: “We know exactly who was on that boat and what they were doing.”
“President Trump is ready to take aggressive actions that others haven't seen,” he assured.
Deputy Secretary of State Marco Rubio warned that similar operations will happen again, noting that previous attempts to intercept boats were unsuccessful.
“What stops them is when you blow them up, when you destroy them,” he said.
Trump confirmed that 11 members of the Tren de Aragua gang were eliminated, adding video with dramatic footage.

Quarantine for Cartels
Trump considers several gangs and drug cartels as terrorist organizations and threatens military actions against them.
In February, he listed Tren de Aragua, as well as six groups from Mexico and MS-13 from El Salvador as foreign terrorist organizations.
Washington has ordered three US Navy destroyers and about 4000 troops to be ready for deployment near Venezuelan territorial waters.
Trump accused President Nicolas Maduro of supporting this gang and actively encouraging drug trafficking.

Also in August, assets worth 700 million dollars allegedly linked to Maduro were seized, including luxury items and private jets.
In response to the naval buildup, Caracas mobilized over 4 million troops last month.
Maduro accused the USA of attempting to change the regime.
“During this maximum military pressure, we announced maximum readiness to defend Venezuela,” he stated.

Trump accused Nicolas Maduro of “mass murder, drug trafficking, sexual trafficking, and acts of violence and terror in the USA and the West.”
The situation around Venezuela will remain tense, and further actions by the USA could lead to an escalation of conflict in the region. Trump continues to insist on decisive measures to counter the cartels, while the Venezuelan side intensifies its defensive measures. This threatens stability in both countries and raises concerns in the international community.
