Today, August 9, representatives of Ukraine, Europe, and the USA will meet in the United Kingdom to discuss a common position ahead of the meeting between US President Donald Trump and the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. This was reported by government sources in the United Kingdom.

Ukraine, Europe, and USA Meeting

Before the summit, in preparation for it, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer discussed the importance of a tripartite meeting with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky. They agree that the forum will be important for discussing pathways to peace. A remark from the press service correspondent was also delivered by a representative of the British Prime Minister.

'They agreed that this will be a vital forum for discussing progress toward ensuring a fair and lasting peace. Both leaders welcomed President Trump's commitment to end this barbaric war and agreed that we must continue to pressure Putin to end his illegal war.'

The meeting will be organized by British Foreign Secretary David Lammy and US Vice President JD Vance.

Initially, Axios reported that advisors from Ukraine, several European countries, and the USA plan to coordinate a common position ahead of the upcoming Trump-Putin summit. There are certain concerns that Trump might agree to Putin's terms without considering the interests of others.

The idea of holding the meeting arose during a teleconference, where representatives from the USA, Ukraine, and Europe were present, making it the third such discussion in the last three days. Preliminary JD Vance and David Lammy have already held a meeting in the UK.

It is worth noting that the Kremlin stated that Steven Witkoff, the US President's special representative, misunderstood the terms regarding the ceasefire during the meeting with Putin, and Andriy Sybiga responded to the Russian side's demands to Ukraine regarding territorial issues in exchange for peace.

The meeting of representatives from Ukraine, Europe, and the USA in the UK before the Trump-Putin meeting underscores the importance of coordinating positions and discussing joint actions to ensure peace and stability. It is clear that the parties are taking the resolution of the conflict seriously and aim to find compromise solutions that take into account the interests of all parties.
