Fate of Hundreds Unknown in Chasiv Yar as All Contact is Lost.
The Situation in Chasiv Yar
According to Novyny.live: All communication with the residents who remained in the town of Chasiv Yar, Donetsk Oblast, has been severed. With buildings in the settlement destroyed, approximately one hundred people are still believed to be there. The lack of any information about their condition is a source of grave concern for authorities.
The Critical Need to Restore Communications
Sergiy Chaus, head of the Chasiv Yar city military administration, stated that contact with local residents has been lost for a prolonged period. This makes it extremely difficult to assess the situation on the ground and the needs of those who stayed behind. Sergiy Chaus emphasized the information blackout, saying:
“We do not have the full picture, we have no connection and no possibility of communication.” - Sergiy Chaus
In the absence of communication and under critical conditions, providing appropriate support for Chasiv Yar's residents is paramount. Restoring contact would be a vital first step toward delivering aid and properly evaluating the needs of those who remain. The broader region has seen intense fighting, making the isolation of these communities even more dangerous. Urgent action is required to improve the living conditions for those trapped in isolation.
