In the Chernihiv region, a court sentenced a man who tortured his partner's children because they picked peaches from a neighbor. This was reported by the Prosecutor General's Office.
Case details
The court established that the man physically abused an 11-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy for five days while intoxicated. The reason was that the children picked peaches from a neighbor. He used various makeshift tools for the beating, such as metal and wooden sticks, an axe, and a knife. The children sustained serious injuries.
The man did not plead guilty, but the court found him guilty of the crime and sentenced him to six years in prison.
As a result of the trial, the man received a six-year prison sentence for the physical abuse of children due to a trivial reason - they picked peaches from a neighbor. This verdict illustrates the unacceptability of any manifestations of violence, especially against minors, and emphasizes the importance of protecting children's rights in society.
