A new service for sailors appeared in 'Diia'.

According to the innovation, sailors can now appoint a trusted person without the need to visit a notary. This was reported by the Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, Mykhailo Fedorov.

According to the new procedure, sailors can designate a representative on the 'Diia' portal in a few clicks, without the need for a personal visit to the Maritime Administration. This means there is no need for paper powers of attorney and notaries.

How does this service work?

1. A sailor submits an application for a rank assignment or qualification confirmation on the 'Diia' portal.
2. The application specifies information about the person who will receive the ready documents on behalf of the sailor.
3. After printing the qualification document, an email with the decision containing a QR code will be sent to the representative.
4. The sailor's trusted person goes to the Maritime Administration, where they present the QR code and a document proving their identity, and receive the qualification documents.
5. In case of refusal, the commission sends a letter explaining the reasons for the refusal.

According to the Ministry of Digital Transformation, this service is fast, convenient, and secure, as each stage of the procedure is monitored and recorded, eliminating the risk of fraud and forgery. There are also no paper powers of attorney, intermediaries, or corruption risks.

The Ministry of Digital Transformation also emphasizes that digital services for sailors are simplified and understandable, providing greater convenience and transparency in the sector.

It should be noted that on September 9, the Ministry of Digital Transformation launched an online marriage service in 'Diia'. Now, one can get married very quickly.

New documents have also appeared in 'Diia': marriage certificates, divorce certificates, and name change certificates.
