Hourly Electricity Blackout Schedules for Kharkiv

According to Novyny.live: Due to a severe strain on the national power grid, Ukraine's national energy company, NEC 'Ukrenergo', implemented scheduled hourly power outages in the Kharkiv region on March 2, 2023. These blackouts are expected to last between two and seven hours on average, with some consumer groups experiencing two separate outages per day. This situation is a direct consequence of the ongoing war, which has caused extensive damage to Ukraine's energy infrastructure.

The specific schedules for Kharkiv designate precise times when electricity will be unavailable. For certain designated consumer groups, power will be cut during the periods of 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM and 10:00 PM to midnight. Other groups will be subject to various outage schedules, including:

  • 1.1 — 11:30–15:00; 22:00–24:00
  • 1.2 — 11:30–15:00
  • 2.1 — 11:30–15:00; 22:00–24:00
  • 2.2 — 08:00–15:00; 22:00–24:00
  • 3.1 — 15:00–18:30
  • 3.2 — 15:00–18:30
  • 4.1 — 11:30–18:30
  • 4.2 — 15:00–18:30
  • 5.1 — 08:00–11:30; 19:00–22:00
  • 5.2 — 08:00–11:30; 19:00–22:00
  • 6.1 — 08:00–11:30; 15:00–22:00
  • 6.2 — 08:00–11:30; 19:00–22:00

Furthermore, industrial and commercial consumers will also face power usage restrictions from 8:00 AM to midnight. These measures are part of a broader effort to stabilize the national grid during the current crisis.

The implementation of scheduled blackouts in the Kharkiv region underscores the critical state of Ukraine's energy system.

These power cuts are anticipated to significantly disrupt daily life for residents and impact businesses that rely on a stable electricity supply. NEC 'Ukrenergo' is attempting to balance consumer demand with the limited available generating capacity, a crucial task amid an energy crisis driven by both external aggression and internal system damage.
