On Tuesday, May 27, 2025, a powerful explosion occurred at a chemical plant in China's Shandong province. As a result of the incident, thick plumes of smoke rose into the sky. There are currently no reports of casualties. The information was provided by Reuters via 'Glavkom'.
The incident took place in the city of Weifang at the Shandong Youdao Chemical plant. More than 200 rescuers immediately arrived at the scene. There was active discussion on social media due to fears of the consequences of toxic gas. The government urged to extinguish the fire quickly and to determine the number of injured.

A small report from Beijing News was accompanied by video footage showing how the explosion damaged windows and belongings of residents ended up on the street. At the request of the government, all residents of the area are advised to wear protective masks during this time.
The Youdao company, which produces chemical products, was established in 2019 and occupies an area of over 47 hectares. This event is not the only one in recent years where explosions have occurred at chemical plants in China.
According to preliminary data, China's military power has increased due to new technologies and equipment capable of carrying out rapid military operations. This may have an impact on the geopolitical situation in the region.
