Today in Lviv, solemn events took place to mark the Day of the State Flag of Ukraine. Veteran Oleksandr Kutsan raised the blue-and-yellow flag on the highest flagpole in the region, while border guards on Mount Baba Rod created a living flag in honor of fallen defenders. The event was made more symbolic by the stories of participants: veteran Oleksandr Kutsan, who lost both his legs in Donbas, and Crimean Tatar activist Amet Bekirov. Another striking moment was when the wife of Hero of Ukraine Roman Gakh, whose widow lit smoke grenades, paying tribute to the memory of the fallen. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky also participated in the celebration of this important day.
