Street musicians banned from performing in Lviv.
Street musicians are prohibited from performing in the central square of Lviv. The changes to the rules are related to the city's ceremonies of farewell to fallen defenders of Ukraine in Rynok Square. The ban will be in effect until the war ends, said the head of the culture department of Lviv City Council, Oleksiy Taraban.
The new rules also state that sound amplification equipment is prohibited in the square in front of the Lviv Opera House. This decision has been made to avoid interference with rehearsals and concerts held in the hall. Now only acoustic performances are allowed on Svobody Avenue near the Opera.
The time for street musicians' performances has also been reduced - they are now allowed to play from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, whereas previously it was allowed until 10:00 PM.
The city council urges entrepreneurs working in Rynok Square to adhere to general recommendations regarding performances from balconies, in particular, to consider respect for the situation in the country.
The International Esports Federation is considering Lviv as the venue for the IESF World Esports Championships 2025. If a decision is made, high-ranking officials from the International Olympic Committee and sports ministers of European countries may attend the event. The competition will likely take place at Lviv Arena.
