The Ukrainian Drama Theater Installed a Bust of Lina Kostenko
At the National Academic Ukrainian Drama Theater named after Maria Zankovetska, a bust of Lina Kostenko, a renowned poetess and writer, was installed. The sculptor was Yaroslav Motyka, a famous artist from Lviv, who passed away on March 1 of this year.
As reported by the press service of the Lviv Organization of Free Artists, Lina Kostenko once visited Motyka's workshop with Borys Voznytsky and Sviatoslav Maksymchuk. The artist created her portrait from memory, as such an image is impossible to forget.
Lina Kostenko's 95th Birthday
Today, March 19, Lina Kostenko turns 95 years old. She is one of the most influential figures in contemporary Ukrainian culture. Lina Kostenko was awarded the title of 'Honorary Citizen of Kyiv' on May 8, 2024, and also received the Order of the Legion of Honor of France during the invasion of the Russian Federation in Ukraine in 2022.
