According to preliminary data, the personal secretary Guzman stopped on the street to pick up Muñoz. At that moment, two attackers on a motorcycle opened fire, killing Muñoz on the spot and then shooting Guzman in the car.

The victims were the mayor's personal secretary Jimena Guzman and advisor Jose Muñoz.
