Two ships collided in the North Sea.

The British Coastguard is conducting a rescue operation in the North Sea off the coast of England due to a collision between an oil tanker and a cargo ship. This was reported by The Guardian.

Several rescue boats and a helicopter, as well as a coastguard aircraft and fire-fighting vessels, have already set out for the scene of the incident. Following the collision, the oil tanker caught fire.

“The Royal Coastguard is currently coordinating the response to reports of a collision between a tanker and a cargo ship off the coast of East Yorkshire,” said a British Coastguard spokesperson.

The vessels involved in the accident are Stena Immaculate and Solong. The incident involved the American tanker MV Stena Immaculate, which had been anchored.

On December 15, 2024, in the Kerch Strait, Russian tankers Volgoneft-212 and Volgoneft-239 were involved in an accident during a storm, resulting in a significant amount of fuel oil spilling into the sea, which continues to spread across the waters of the Black Sea.

There was also an issue with an underwater cable in the Baltic Sea near the island of Gotland.
