Poland has counted how many applications were submitted by those wishing to join the Ukrainian Legion.
At the beginning of November, more than 500 applications from Ukrainians from 30 countries around the world were received by the Ukrainian Legion being formed in Poland. This was reported by Ukrinform.
The recruiting center operating at the Consulate General of Ukraine in Lublin received applications from citizens residing in Poland, the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, and the USA. Thanks to moral and psychological preparation and interviews with candidates, more than 500 applications were collected. This is considered a very good result since it is only the beginning of the recruiting center's work.
We receive the most applications from Ukrainians living in Poland or the Czech Republic, but there are also from geographically distant regions - the United Kingdom, Ireland, and even Canada and the USA.
Applications were submitted by both young and older people who have different professions and life experiences. Most applications were submitted by men, but there are also women interested in medical specialties. As for military specialization, there are no restrictions.
It is interesting to note that about 80% of all applications submitted to join the Legion were from people who had no prior military service experience.
