In Portugal, a sand artist has created his seventh work dedicated to Ukraine (photo).


Yesterday, on the occasion of the Day of Defenders of Ukraine, Portuguese artist Vítor Raposo created a new work on the Algarve coast. This work has become Vítor's seventh dedication to Ukraine.
Our philosophy and ability to make the impossible possible through willpower not only tell the world more about us, Ukrainians. Such a lifestyle has the potential to become popular among millions of foreigners as motivation to overcome difficulties and move forward. Thank you Portugal and the Portuguese for supporting Ukraine.
In 2023, Ukraine celebrated the Day of Defenders for the first Time on October 1. This was made possible after switching to a new church calendar and shifting all religious holidays back by 13 days. Previously, defenders of Ukraine were honored on Pokrova, October 14.
Yesterday, on the Day of Defenders of Ukraine, a nationwide minute of silence took place at 9:00 on Khreshchatyk and Independence Square. Additionally, vehicle and pedestrian traffic stopped, and people got out of their cars to honor the memory of the fallen Heroes. The portraits of the fallen defenders stood along Khreshchatyk Street with their relatives and loved ones.
