Vadim Moshkovich Arrested in Russia: What the Billionaire Did.
A court in Moscow has decided to arrest the founder of the 'Rusagro' company and former senator Vadim Moshkovich. He is accused of fraud and abuse of power. The company confirmed the searches but refuses to comment on Moshkovich's arrest. At the request of the investigation, he will be sent to a pre-trial detention center because they consider him a flight risk. Moshkovich asserts his innocence and asks not to send him to prison.
I am a law-abiding citizen, have never committed any crimes, including this one
The 'Rusagro' company requested to release Moshkovich on a bail of 1 billion rubles, but the court denied this and sent him to a pre-trial detention center. The same decision was made regarding the former CEO of 'Rusagro', Maxim Basov. Moshkovich's total wealth amounts to $2.7 billion. Previously, his assets were arrested in France in 2022.
It is also worth noting that the venture fund 8VC, where Moshkovich's and Aven's sons work, was one of the investors in the acquisition of the social network Twitter by Elon Musk.
