An intercontinental missile 'Sarmat' or 'Satan' might have exploded in Russia: satellite photos.
An explosion of the intercontinental ballistic missile RS-28 'Satan' or 'Sarmat' occurred in Russia, confirmed by satellite images and analysts.
On Saturday, September 21, Ukrainian troops attacked the GRAU arsenal in the Tver region and the Tikhoretsk arsenal in the Krasnodar region. Information appeared online that Ukrainian defenders destroyed Russia's missile, but this has not been confirmed by the General Staff.
Satellite images published by analysts indicate the explosion of the RS-28 missile in Russia; however, this is not related to yesterday's attacks.
Photos of the Russian cosmodrome 'Plesetsk' show the result of an unsuccessful missile test, which could have happened from September 20 to 22, 2024.
An explosion of an intercontinental missile during a test launch is a catastrophe, and this is already the fourth unsuccessful case for the 'Sarmat' missile.
The only successful missile launch occurred in April 2022, but Russian President Vladimir Putin stated in February 2024 that the 'Sarmat' missiles are already in military service.
The 'Sarmat' missile is the fifth generation of the Russian strategic missile complex. It has a flight range of 18,000 km and can carry up to 10 tons of payload.
