Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh commented on the loss of the first F-16 fighter by Ukrainian forces, resulting in the death of the pilot. This information is conveyed by the site defense.gov.

Singh noted that the US had not received any requests from Ukraine for assistance in investigating the incident. She emphasized that only the Ukrainian side can comment on the causes of the plane crash, and the Pentagon does not confirm any information regarding this.

Singh also urged everyone to contact Ukraine directly for comments on the details of the incident and the electronic equipment on the fighters.

The number of F-16s already present in Ukraine or planned for delivery, the Pentagon representative declined to comment, stating that this is an operational security issue and is the responsibility of Ukraine.

Singh also emphasized the complexity of combat aviation and expressed pride that the US had the opportunity to train Ukrainian pilots both on its territory and with the help of allies.

We remind you that the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the loss of the F-16 during a massive strike by Russia. The death of pilot Oleksii Mesia during a combat mission was officially confirmed.
