According to ТСН: In the village of Kremenishche, Kyiv region, animal rights activists discovered the bodies of 51 tortured animals that were under the care of a woman named Viktoria Dyka. They also managed to rescue 40 cats and one dog.

Word from Animal Rights Activists

Animal rights activist Snyzhana Buhryk, who was on site, noted: “This was all done by Viktoria Dyka, who positioned herself as a volunteer, foster, and shelter. Her real name is Halyna Bondarenko. She tortured hundreds of animals. We managed to carry out 51 dead animals.”

Reaction from the Prosecutor's Office

The Kyiv Prosecutor's Office confirmed this information, stating that “on December 18, 2025, a volunteer reported to the police. He informed that in one of the households in the village of Kremenishche, animals were kept in horrific conditions, leading to their mass death.”

Law enforcement officers found dozens of cats suffering in horrific conditions, without proper care and in unsanitary conditions during their inspection.

Animal Rescue

Together with the police, prosecutors helped volunteers rescue 39 live cats. All of them were transferred to another shelter where they receive the necessary help and care.

It is known that a criminal proceeding has been initiated in this case under Part 3 of Article 299 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — cruel treatment of animals committed with particular cruelty and against a large number of animals. Investigative actions are ongoing, and the prosecutor's office is establishing all circumstances and individuals involved in the abuse of animals.

Response from Organizations

One of the organizations involved in animal rescue reported that Dyka had been taking animals for fostering for a long time. Animals were found in their premises that had been handed over by volunteers.

“Auschwitz for animals that we saw with our own eyes. Various challenges arose on our path. Different difficult places where someone needed to be rescued. But yesterday was particularly hard. Not so much physically — as morally,” the message states.

This tragedy highlights the importance of monitoring volunteers and animal shelters. The prosecutor's office and law enforcement continue their work to establish all circumstances of this case. The steps being taken in this situation aim not only at punishing the guilty but also at ensuring the safety of animals in Ukraine as a whole.
