The Armed Forces of Ukraine explained why Russian troops are retreating from the western outskirts of Pokrovsk.

Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson for the 'Khortytsia' group, reported that Russian occupiers are consistently retreating from the western outskirts of the city of Pokrovsk. This happened after they failed to cut off an important route connecting Pavlohrad and Pokrovsk.
Trehubov noted that the Russians had been actively advancing, but Ukrainian forces managed to repel their attack, and now the occupiers are leaving the western outskirts, moving towards the south. Meanwhile, the Pokrovsk direction remains the most active, and the occupiers are conducting rotations in the Kup'yansk and Kharkiv areas, concentrating their forces.
The spokesperson emphasized that although the intensity of the fighting has significantly decreased, this does not mean a ceasefire. He noted that the Russians continue to actively conduct rotations and accumulate troops, indicating a temporary reduction before a further increase in the intensity of hostilities.
