Ukraine's Strikes on Oil Refineries Caused Severe Fuel Shortage in Russia: Prices Soared.
Ukraine's strikes on oil refineries (OR) have led to a severe fuel shortage in the Russian Federation. This news was published by The Financial Times.
Since the beginning of July, several large Russian ORs have been attacked. Experts believe that Ukraine is conducting this campaign of attacks systematically, which could lead to the complete shutdown of the facilities.
Due to the crisis in the market, fuel prices in Russia have risen – both in retail and wholesale markets. Russia has banned the export of gasoline, but even this measure has not helped avoid the crisis.
Recently, the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported successful strikes on Russian convoys with fuel and lubricants. The Ukrainian army struck them near the railway station Dzhankoy in occupied Crimea.
After Ukraine's strikes on ORs, the fuel shortage in Russia intensified, leading to an increase in gasoline prices and the introduction of a ban on gasoline exports for the domestic market.
