Hungary accused the EU of stopping Russian oil supplies through Ukraine.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto stated that the European Commission is not taking any measures to stop the supply of Russian oil through Ukraine. He warned of a possible energy crisis.
Szijjarto noted that Budapest and Bratislava appealed to the European Commission a week ago, but received no results. He also questioned Kyiv's involvement in the oil dispute.
The Hungarian Foreign Minister demands that the European Commission explain whether Brussels requested a ban on oil supplies and why no measures have been taken. He is concerned about the threat to the energy security of two EU member states.
Last week, Gergely Gulyas, head of Prime Minister Viktor Orban's office, warned of a possible fuel shortage due to blocked supplies by the company "Lukoil." Nevertheless, he emphasized that there is no panic, as Hungary has oil reserves.
