Péter Szijjártó is a Hungarian politician, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary since September 23, 2014. He holds a master's degree in international relations and has been a member of the National Assembly since 2002.
Place of birth. Education. Born on October 30, 1978 in the city of Komárom into a wealthy family. He spent a year and a half in the United States, received secondary education at the György Czuczor Gymnasium in the city of Győr. In 1997, he graduated from the Budapest University of Economic Sciences and Public Administration (today Corvinus University), studying international relations and sports management.

Political career. He began his political career in 1998 when he was elected the youngest member of the Győr municipal assembly. He was the vice-chairman of the Committee on Education, Culture, and Sports. He was one of the founders and the first president of Fidelitas, the youth organization of Fidesz in Győr.
In 2001, he was elected vice-president of Fidelitas and also became a member of the national council of Fidesz. Szijjártó has been a member of the National Assembly of Hungary since 2002. He was the youngest member of parliament from 2002 to 2006. In 2004, he was appointed deputy chairman of the Committee on Youth and Sports, holding this position until 2006.
In 2005, he was elected president of Fidelitas, replacing András Gyürk. He also became the leader of the Győr branch of Fidesz. He held the position of Fidelitas leader until 2009 when Péter Ágh was appointed the new president.
He was the personal representative of the Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orbán from 2010 to 2012.
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán appointed Szijjártó as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade in September 2014, when his predecessor Tibor Navracsics resigned.
Family. Married (2009), wife Sylvia (1975), teacher. They have two children: Péter (2011) and Patrik (2014).
