Russian troops in Kupiansk are being destroyed: encirclement blocks a key railway hub.
According to ТСН: Russian soldiers trapped in Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region are gradually losing their positions. The Russian forces will not be able to regain control of this city within the deadlines they set themselves.
Loss in Kupiansk
The head of the communications department of the Joint Forces Group, Viktor Trehubov, reported during a telethon that there were about 80 Russian soldiers in Kupiansk previously. According to his data, their losses range from three to five individuals per day. According to the military, there is little time left to complete the operation to eliminate enemy troops.
«There is no particular need to accelerate this process now, as it is already obvious that the Russians will not be able to restore access to the city within the deadlines needed for their completion,» Trehubov explained.
Unfavorable conditions for the enemy
The invaders are trying to advance from the northern direction, but their attempts are yielding no results. Trehubov noted that the loss of Kupiansk and Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi deprives Russia of the ability to use a key railway hub, effectively blocking the possibilities for further advances in this region.
As previously reported, the occupiers are trying to breach the defense near Kupiansk, intensifying pressure on the eastern bank of the Oskil River. The enemy is trying to displace Ukrainian troops from there, but is making no significant progress.
The situation in Kupiansk remains critical for Russian forces attempting to regain control over the territory. The losses incurred by the invaders indicate their inability to effectively implement planned operations. Thus, continued active resistance from Ukrainian troops will be crucial in the ongoing struggle for the liberation of the region.
