Zelensky revealed details of the peace plan: Ukraine expects Russia's response by the end of January.
According to ТСН: Ukraine has provided its comments to the American side regarding territorial proposals and is awaiting Moscow's response to the updated peace plan by the end of the month.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky explained that the country has sent feedback on the proposals to the US team, which will present them to the Russian side. After Moscow reviews these positions, they may be sent back to Kyiv for further approval.
Negotiations with the US and hopes for Russia's response
Zelensky hopes that Russia's response to the 20-point program will come in time to be considered during discussions of joint plans with Donald Trump. A meeting between the leaders of Ukraine and the US could take place at the end of January, either in the United States or at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Zelensky stated that the main goal of the negotiations is to obtain clear security commitments from Washington.
“I don’t want everything to end with just their promises to respond. I genuinely want something more specific,” emphasized Volodymyr Zelensky, underscoring the need for US actions in case of new waves of Russian aggression.
Discussion of the 'prosperity plan'
In addition to security issues, the parties are considering the 'prosperity plan', which includes guarantees for the recovery of the Ukrainian economy. The President aims to solidify these agreements as part of a strategic partnership that will ensure lasting peace and stability after the war.
It should be noted that it was previously reported that US President Donald Trump's peace plan for ending the war in Ukraine faced serious obstacles. Ukraine does not legally recognize the occupied territories as part of Russia, but is considering the possibility of creating demilitarized zones with international management as a compromise.
This situation highlights the complexity of peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, as well as the importance of the support that Ukraine receives from the US. At the same time, security and economic recovery issues remain at the forefront for both sides, which could significantly change the course of events in the future.
