Letter of Intent Signed Between Ukraine and the EU
According to UATV: A letter of intent was signed in Kyiv on July 15, 2023, marking the start of a strategic industrial partnership between Ukraine and the European Union. The agreement focuses on the joint manufacturing of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and countermeasure systems, with a target completion date by the end of 2026. Additionally, collaborative efforts to produce anti-ballistic missiles are planned to begin by 2028.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen highlighted the significance of this partnership, stating:
'That is why I am delighted to launch, together with you, Vladimir, a new EU-Ukraine partnership in the defense industry.' Ursula von der Leyen
As part of the deal, up to €10 billion in support loans for Ukraine will be utilized, underscoring the EU's commitment to strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities.
