“Ballistic missiles are Russia’s last argument in the war against Ukraine, and we must find adequate countermeasures.”
Volodymyr Zelenskyy
Zelenskyy also stressed the indispensable role of American-made Patriot systems, stating:
. These remarks underscore the urgency of the situation and the pressing need to bolster Ukraine’s defenses amid an ongoing threat.“So far, we have only one tool that works. That is the American Patriot systems.”

Strategic Significance of International Military Cooperation
Currently, a PURL program is in place for missile procurement, forming part of Ukraine’s broader strategy to enhance its military capabilities. The negotiations with the United States could represent a pivotal step in securing the necessary support for Ukraine’s armed forces.
These talks with the U.S. administration highlight the strategic importance of international military collaboration for Ukraine, particularly in light of escalating threats from Russia. As one of the most advanced air defense systems available, Patriot missiles could significantly boost the Ukrainian military’s effectiveness in repelling rocket attacks. Advancing Ukraine’s defensive capacity through access to Patriot technology and local production may mark a crucial milestone in safeguarding the nation amid an ongoing conflict.
