Ukraine responded to the US proposal regarding the $500 billion mineral fund, - Bloomberg.
Ukraine rejected the US proposal to create a mineral fund worth $500 billion. This fund was supposed to compensate for American military aid.
According to Bloomberg agency, the Ukrainian side believes that the actual amount of aid from the US is lower and amounts to over $90 billion. Negotiations regarding the agreement are ongoing as the current project proposed by the United States contains controversial elements, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is not ready to approve it.
According to the US proposal, the income of the Ukrainian government was to be directed to a fund for the long-term reconstruction of Ukraine, in which the United States was to have economic and managerial rights.
This proposal was discussed by US Special Envoy Keith Kellogg during his visit to Kyiv this week. Also, US President Donald Trump stated that the parties 'are quite close to an agreement.'
