The outages are expected to impact major cities such as Kyiv, Odesa, and the Dnipropetrovsk region. When temperatures spike, the strain on the power grid increases by 2 gigawatts, making scheduled interruptions necessary to prevent a total collapse.

On June 25, emergency power cuts were already imposed on the left bank of Kyiv. According to Volodymyr Omelchenko, residents should anticipate daily blackouts of around two to three hours.

The performance of Ukraine's energy network this summer hinges on both weather conditions and the risk of further Russian attacks.
