Experts Warn of Potential Fuel Shortage in Ukraine for April Despite Stable March Supply.
Fuel Supply Status in Ukraine
According to TSN.ua: As of March 2023, Ukraine's fuel supply remains stable, but analysts are forecasting a potential shortage in April. While the country is currently fully supplied, experts warn that shifts in the global oil market could rapidly alter this situation. The global energy market has been highly unstable since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, impacting supply chains worldwide.
Serhiy Kuyun, Director of the A-95 consulting group, predicts that forced reductions in oil production in the Middle East could decrease fuel output, leading to an actual shortage by April.
"No one understands what will happen next, where it will go. The volatility is simply insane: +20% one day, -20% the next." — Serhiy Kuyun
Danylo Hetmantsev, Head of the Parliamentary Committee on Finance, Tax, and Customs Policy, has also warned of a possible fuel deficit in Ukraine. He stated the situation is driven by oil production cuts that could have serious consequences. In response, the governments of Japan and South Korea have decided to release stocks from their strategic reserves, highlighting the seriousness of the global market situation.
Furthermore, Denmark has urged its citizens to avoid using cars due to rising oil prices, a move that could also influence fuel demand. Therefore, while Ukraine's fuel supply is currently under control, given global trends, citizens should prepare for potential difficulties in the near future.
Advice for Ukrainian Citizens
Given the volatility of global oil prices and potential supply challenges, Ukrainians are advised to monitor news closely and prepare for possible changes in fuel availability. In the current climate of global energy market instability, conditions can change quickly, so staying informed is crucial to avoid unnecessary inconvenience.
