Ukraine Implements Hourly Electricity Shutdowns

According to TSN.ua: Starting March 14, all regions of Ukraine will face scheduled hourly power cuts as a direct consequence of Russian strikes on the country's energy infrastructure. This measure is essential to maintain the stability of the national power grid under the current extreme conditions.

Blackout Timetables

For residential customers, the power interruptions will be enforced daily from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM local time. Meanwhile, industrial users will face capacity restrictions between 5:00 PM and 11:00 PM. This staggered approach is designed to reduce strain on the electrical network, thereby preventing more severe disruptions to the electricity supply.

Utility companies DTEK and regional power distributors (Oblenergo) have already released the hourly blackout schedules for March 13. Additionally, Ukraine's Ministry of Energy is rolling out new operational protocols for the energy system, aimed at improving the overall electricity situation. Given the extensive damage to energy infrastructure, strict adherence to these updated rules and timetables is critical for safeguarding the nation's energy security.

The introduction of rolling blackouts across Ukraine is a direct response to mounting challenges in the energy sector, fueled by ongoing military aggression. These actions are intended not only to lower the load on the power grid but also to shield vital energy assets from further harm. It is crucial for both the public and businesses to adjust to these new realities, as a reliable electricity supply remains a cornerstone of national function during this difficult period.
